Paste two lists above and the comparison appears here instantly — matching items, differences, and unique values update as you type. Nothing is uploaded; everything runs in your browser.

How it works

Three steps, zero friction

No signup, no upload, no waiting. Comparing lists should take seconds — and that is exactly how long it takes.

Paste your two lists

Paste one list into each box — one item per line — or drag and drop a .txt or .csv file. Copying a column straight from Excel or Google Sheets also works.

Watch results update instantly

No submit button, no page refresh. Matching items, differences, and unique values appear as you type, with a Venn diagram that visualizes the overlap.

Copy, download, or share

Copy any result with one click, or share your comparison with a link. Every comparison stays in your browser — nothing is ever sent to a server.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I compare two lists online?

Paste each list into one of the two boxes above — one item per line — and the results update instantly as you type. You can also upload .txt or .csv files, or paste a column copied from Excel. The tool shows matching items, items that only appear in one list, and the complete set of unique items, with a Venn diagram that visualizes the overlap.

What is a comparable list?

A comparable list is any list of items you want to compare with another — for example two lists of Instagram followers, two mailing lists, or two inventory sheets. This free comparable list tool finds the items the two lists have in common, the items that appear in only one of them, and the full deduplicated combination of both.

Can I compare Instagram followers and following lists?

Yes. Export your followers and following data from Instagram, then paste or upload the files. Enable the “Ignore case” option if usernames differ in capitalization, and the tool will show accounts you follow that do not follow you back — and vice versa.

Can I compare CSV files or Excel columns?

Yes. Upload a .csv file to either box, or copy a column from Excel or Google Sheets and paste it in. If you paste multiple columns, enable the “Split by tabs” option so every cell is treated as a separate item.

Is this list comparison tool free?

Yes — completely free, with no account, no signup, and no limits on list size. There is nothing to install; it runs in your browser on any device.

Are my lists uploaded to a server?

No. All comparison happens locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your data never leaves your device, which makes this tool safe for private lists such as customer emails, employee data, or internal records. Shared links store the data in the URL itself, not on any server.

Does the tool remove duplicates?

Yes. Duplicate items within a list are counted once, so the counts you see are the true sizes of each set. The “All unique” tab shows the deduplicated combination of both lists, which is the fastest way to remove duplicates from two lists at once.

How does the Venn diagram work?

The Venn diagram represents each list as a circle whose area is proportional to the number of items it contains. The overlap between the circles shows how many items appear in both lists. It updates live as you type, giving you an at-a-glance picture of how similar your two lists are.

Can I compare JSON files or code?

You can paste JSON array values or log lines into the tool today. A dedicated JSON comparison tool and a CSV diff tool are on the roadmap — check the changelog for updates.
